In the fall of 2008, the Youth Partnership applied for a grant from Youth Move, a subsidiary of the National Federation of families for Children’s Mental Health in the hopes of reducing the stigma of mental health challenges in youth. Shalemar T’s application for the 2008-2009 award competition was accepted. Shalemar’s application clearly demonstrated creativity, interest and energy for raising awareness about mental health challenges and reducing stigma among youth and within our communities. His creation is a skit based on the reality of living with emotional, behavioral or mental health challenges. His work is titled “Family in Crisis” and was presented in skit form.
Congratulations for a job well done, Shalemar!
